Mike often enjoy's reading when he wants to relax. During his childhood and early teenage years, he would read a lot more than he does now. He doesn't usually spend his free time reading, but when he does he's usually reading a science fiction of fantasy novel.
Reading can sometimes be hard for Mike if the book he's reading is dull. Along with that, sometimes he'll forgets where he's at when he's reading a dull book since he thinks of so many other things. In order for him to progress through a dull book that he might have to read, Mike has to push himself and know that it might serve him well later.
Mike is the kind of guy that enjoy's a challenging book that makes him have to think or comprehend. For example, he tries to read books that are a little over his comprehension level so that he can expand his vocabulary. In his opinion, the best way to learn something is to immerse yourself in the thing that you want to learn.
Mike is currently reading the biography of Alexander Hamilton written by Ron Chernow and How to Read Literature like a Professor by Thomas C. Foster.
Mike didn't finish all the books this summer since he switched into the class last minute and didn't know that there was summer reading involved. However, he started to read How to Read Literature like a Professor by Thomas C. Foster.
Last year Mike probably read around 4 to 5 books, mainly for his English class.
Mike's favorite authors are John Flanagan, J. R. R. Tolkien, and Christopher Paolini.
In his house, Mike has about 500 books whether they're stores on shelves or in tubs since he moved.

Sometimes it's nice to get suggestions from other peers or teachers on books they enjoyed, as well as finding a book that he enjoy's reading for his English classes. Every once and a while he has to be motivated to read something that he doesn't enjoy reading, but for the most part he likes it.
